.Tod Dickow and The Charged Particles Play at Mama Kin

The Charged Particles provide an apt tagline for themselves: “Jazz with a spark!” Since the band’s founding in the early 1990s, this virtuosic trio has never failed to deliver on the promise of electrifying jazz. They are known for daring fusions, anchored by keyboard player Murray Low’s Latin-jazz stylings and improvisational twists. Among their most esteemed collaborators is Bay Area tenor saxist Tod Dickow, who joins them this Thursday at Mama Kin. Together they celebrate the legacy of the great tenor sax player Michael Brecker. Once this group gets going, the positive ions don’t stop flying.
