A native of Saratoga, singer/songwriter/pianist Vienna Teng’s star ascended during the release of her 2002 album Waking Hour. Rarely does an artist get promoted by such heavyweights as NPR’s Weekend Edition and The Late Show with David Letterman at 24 years old. Even more outstanding is that Teng has surfed that wave through four studio albums. She blends genres like chamber folk, jazz, and electro-pop while homaging her heroes, including Paul Simon and Tori Amos. Tang’s latest min-EP, We’ve Got You, features two songs that if played simultaneously, work together to create a mash-up and hidden message about revolution.
