The lively altar walk of Eastside San Jose’s Alum Rock neighborhood returns, this time on Halloween night. The tenth anniversary of this signature event includes a community altar, a gallery exhibition curated by Works/San José, and hands-on art activities appropriate for all ages. An artisanal vendor market brings both exported goods and selections from local artists. Themed face painting will be available. Live entertainment includes dynamic dance presentations, ranging from Aztec to Brazilian samba to Mexican folklorico, and live wrestling. As some streets will be closed to ensure a safe altar walk, attendees are encouraged to take public transportation.
