Botswana-born Bokani Dyer is a jazz pianist whose work incorporates textures from a wide array of other styles including classical, electronica, fusion, rhythm and blues and salsa, world. Not long after releasing his 2010 debut album Mirrors, Dyer won his first high-profile award. Within a decade, he earned two Best Jazz Album awards in South Africa for his second and third albums. His most recent release is 2023’s Radio Sechaba. That record was made truly solo during the Covid-19 lockdown. Dyer’s Trio also features Timothy Norton on bass and Lumanyano Mzi on drums.
