This San Francisco trio is just as intricate and nuanced as their self-proclaimed “feelings rock” genre. In truth, they are a high energy, math rock band with singer and guitarist Alex Yu playing a style that weaves finger-tapping techniques ala Yvette Young of Covet. She is backed by rhythm section Forest Reid on bass and Conner Flynn McNesby on drums, both heavy players in their own right, forming a power trio with the potential to make it beyond the Bay. This Friday they play Chromatic Coffee, a true cafe just as known for its connection to the art and music scene as it is for its rich, roasted blends, with Antlion, Softsnag and Thelves.
