This Friday, dive deep into the San Jose underground with Natasha Sandworms, Star 99 and Grumpster, three of the area’s best on-the-rise acts. What makes this show so great—besides the dim sum—is the diversity of sound represented. Natasha Sandworms brings a dreamy, lo-fi quality to the show, while Star 99 holds it down for the punks. Headliner Grumpster carries an indie heart in their hands, combining punk and emo for catchy, angsty music. Anchoring the lineup is Portland quartet Growing Pains who mix up indie rock with ethereal vocals while walking the line of power pop and shoegaze.
