The Psychedelic Furs emerged from Britain’s post-punk scene sounding like romantic disappointment had discovered a saxophone and a decent wardrobe. More than four decades later, Richard Butler’s unmistakable voice still gives songs like “Love My Way,” “Pretty in Pink” and “The Ghost in You” their particular combination of melancholy and swagger. The band remains a reminder that the ’80s produced more than questionable hairstyles and synthesizer-related crimes. We Are Scientists open, making for an evening of alternative rock with considerably more staying power than most nostalgia acts. Show also on Monday.
