IV and the Strange Band doesn’t sound much like anyone else touring right now. Fronted by Coleman Williams—better known as IV, also the great-grandson of Hank Williams—the band pulls together outlaw country, punk, rockabilly and hard rock without worrying about neat genre labels. The songs are gritty, loud and a little unpredictable, carrying just enough of the family legacy to acknowledge it before heading off in their own direction. The Ritz feels like the right room for that approach, where the band’s rough edges and high energy should come across exactly as intended.
