An American exploration of family, history and cultural identity, “Bone Hill: The Concert” is a musical storytelling performance by composers Martha Redbone and Aaron Whitby. Drawing inspiration from her own life and the women she descends from, Redbone takes the stage as characters from over four generations of a family in the hills of coal-mining Appalachia, with townsfolk as the musicians. The music in Bone Hill transcends genres and generations as traditional Cherokee chants meet bluegrass and blues, gospel and rock & roll interspersed with R&B.
