Hip hop may have its roots in urban centers of the United States, but the form is universal. In 2015 Siddhant Sharma and Abhijay Negi formed Seedhe Maut, a hip hop duo based in Delhi, India. Within two years the duo landed a record contract, and began a stream of releases including singles, mixtapes and full-length albums. Seedhe Maut sometimes employs socially conscious lyrics, taking on high-profile issues including Islamophobia, India’s caste system and hate crimes. The duo’s current SMX Global Tour takes them to ten countries around the globe. Seedhe Maut’s latest single is “Bazaar,” featured on Bharat Chauhan’s album Uns.
