Iranian filmmaker Maziar Miri made The Unfinished Piece in 2000. That film won widespread critical acclaim but was banned in Iran. Subsequent films met similar fates: critical praise internationally, bans in his native country. Trust Me!!! is Miri’s first theatrical production. The Persian (Farsi) language play focuses upon the lives of Iranian families living in the United States, and the ways in which the revelation of long-held secrets leads to a tragic unraveling. Miri produced and directed the darkly comedic work, which stars Shabnam Tolouei, Afshin Hashemi, Shadi Najand and Ahmad Hashemian. Previous stagings have included dates in San Francisco and Toronto.
