Trikaala – Then, Now, Becoming in Palo Alto

Founded by artistic director Mythili Kumar, San Jose’s Abhinaya Dance Company has been teaching the South Indian classical dance form known as Bharatanatyam since 1980. In Trikaala – Then, Now, Becoming, daughter, dancer and choreographer Rasika Kumar stages new works, as well as revisits some of her past works, including her arangetram, a rite-of-passage celebration and debut solo recital for Bharatanatyam dancers, which she performed 30 years ago in 1996. The evening includes musicians Asha Ramesh, Malavika Walia, Ashwin Krishnakumar, Sruti Sarathy and Amit Ranganathan.
