Singer-songwriter James Taylor rose to fame in the early ’70s with hits like “Fire and Rain” and “You’ve Got a Friend.” Primarily an acoustic guitarist, Taylor writes and records music that draws from folk, pop, rock and blues. His lyrics are emotionally raw and yet relatable. A six-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. Released in 1976, his Greatest Hits album sold more than 11 million copies in the U.S. In addition to his immense songwriting gifts, he’s a noted interpreter of the work of others.
